I grew up in West Virginia and lived in the tri-state area of Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky until coming here to work at the University of Oregon as an Alcohol and Other Drug Coordinator/Senior Staff Therapist in the campus Counseling Center. I was employed at the UO Counseling Center for almost six years before making the decision to venture into private practice. In addition to my other roles at the UO Counseling Center, I served as Director of the University Oregon Collegiate Recovery Center for four years.
I graduated from Marshall University in Huntington West Virginia in 1997 with an undergraduate degree in counseling, and then with a master’s degree in counseling in 1999.
I have been in the helping profession for over twenty-four years.I started my career working with adolescents struggling with substance use and mental health disorders. During this time I have worked with a variety of populations struggling with substance use and mental health disorders including adolescents, college students, adults, and the elderly.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor III in the state of Oregon. I am a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. In addition to individual therapy services, I provide Motivational Interviewing Trainings.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and going on adventures here in the Pacific Northwest.
